At the beginning of my career I took many courses to learn audiovisual production🎥. Then I started to get involved in different projects focusing on directing.
A documentary about the woman of tango
A drummer friend was part of the band of Amelita Baltar, singer and ex-wife of Astor Piazzolla, the Argentinian who filled theatres all over the world with his vision of tango. In 2012, they were about to record an album with great guest artists such as Fito Paez, Fernando Ruiz Díaz, Leopoldo Federico, Luis Salinas, among others. This historic Argentinean singer had formed a band with young musicians and was going to release the first album with songs composed by her. My friend called me to film the recording of the album, but my proposal was to create and direct a documentary about the reinvention of an older singer at the age of 72.
Having fun and filming with friends
We all had a rock band or friends who had a rock band. Tawer was a musical project of friends and I was the director of several songs on their first albums. I had started working as a creative in advertising agencies and I liked to think of good ideas before I started filming. Those were fun years where we were producing projects with $0 budget.
